Forces of Nature is one of the most unique armies in Kings of War because it feels less like a single faction and more like a coalition of the natural world. Elementals, druids, forest creatures, naiads, centaurs, and towering monsters all fight together under the same banner, creating an army with an incredible amount of flexibility in both model selection and gameplay.
One of the biggest strengths of Forces of Nature is its toolbox. The army has access to fast cavalry, durable anvils, powerful monsters, flying threats, and some of the best chaff units in the game. Few armies can adapt to different playstyles as easily. Whether you prefer an aggressive alpha strike, a combined arms approach, or a defensive scenario-focused army, Forces of Nature can usually build an effective list around that strategy.
The army is also packed with high-quality support pieces. Druids provide excellent utility, nature-themed units often bring useful special rules, and many of the army’s best units work well together to create favorable engagements. Forces of Nature players are often rewarded for careful positioning and coordinated attacks rather than simply throwing their toughest units directly into the enemy (although they can build around exceptionally tough units)
That flexibility does come with some challenges. Unlike armies that have a clearly defined battleplan, Forces of Nature can sometimes struggle to identify a specific identity. Many units are good, but relatively few are outright dominant. Building a cohesive list often requires finding the right combination of units rather than simply taking the strongest profiles available. New players can also feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of viable choices.
Another challenge is that some of the army’s units are highly specialized. Forces of Nature has answers to many problems, but it often relies on putting the right tool in the right place at the right time. Mistakes in deployment or positioning can leave expensive units exposed or key synergies unused.
Overall, Forces of Nature is an excellent choice for players who enjoy list building, battlefield flexibility, and having options. The army rewards experience, careful play, and creative problem solving. While it may not have the most obviously powerful units in the game, it consistently has the tools needed to compete while offering one of the broadest and most diverse collections of units available in Kings of War.
